Fundraising

To do what we do, we rely on funds and fundraising. Our funds come from several places - coming along to our events and participating, grants from Withyham Parish Council and Wealden Council, donations and the Wealden Community Lottery.

Set up in 2023 to support community projects in the local area, Wealden Community Lottery operates on the principle of raising money within the community for the community. We empower local good causes to raise money in a fun and effective way.

The Wealden Community Lottery

Wealden Community Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in the Wealden District including BETSI.

Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week, with a range of prizes and a top prize of £25,000! From every £1 ticket you buy, 60p will go to BETSI to improve our community and support our events. A weekly draw takes place every Saturday night. Match all 6 numbers and you win the JACKPOT of £25,000.

DONATIONS

BETSI is made up of a group of volunteers. There are no staff to pay and overheads are minimal.

100% of money raised and donations given go back into the community.

To date we have used money to purchase items for the village such as the bench at Tommy Corner (and it’s maintenance); the plants that fill the trough; subsidising food and drink at our events; a marquee and two large gazebos, a BBQ and other resources to fulfil the purposes of our activities. Sometimes we fund free activities such as chocolate eggs for the children’s Easter Egg hunt, and other things that help our events reach their potential - enabling community cohesion.

How a QR Code works:
1. On your mobile phone or tablet find the camera.

2. Hover the camera view over the QR code opposite until the image of the QR Code in your view is clear.

3. Your phone should then indicate a link (in our case it will read: Square.link). You may get an instruction “Show Options”.

4. Once clicked it will take you to our secure Blackham Community Fundraising page. Here you can enter the amount you would like to donate.
